Looking for the easier way to do business, medicine and life?

You may as well leave this community, unfollow me, and in fact quit the business altogether.

Business is not for those who are looking for an easier way to do things…the easy clients or patients, the easy sales, easy money, easy life.

Sorry. If that’s what you’re looking for then stay in medicine.

Stay where you are and do what you already know. That’s the easier way. Keep your day job, work for a living, and do as you’re told.

Let’s put this into a different context…

Imagine a JMO went to a College and said, ‘make it easy for me. Give me an easy way out.’

You already know what would happen…

All you would hear is, “NEXT!” and laughter as they left the bloody room only to be replaced by someone who was serious.

Business is the same.

It’s not easier, despite what the Instagram photos might suggest.

Starting an app is not an easy way to make a fortune, growing an online business is not easier, starting your own clinic definitely is not easier – and it never will be.

It’s not even a case of work hard now and it will be easier later.

I’ve been there, made millions, looked for the easy way, almost lost it all and realised there is no easier way.

Later on, it’s just a different kind of hard. There will be different challenges to overcome.

Business is not easier than medicine.

But it’s BETTER.

It’s much better as a substitute, or in addition to medicine, because I know not everyone has to or wants to leave and that’s perfectly fine.

So why is it better?

Well, because in business you actually get control, you get to say what happens in your life, you get to decide how you live, you get to travel, to change the world, to leverage your skills and abilities to help more people.

You call the shots. You design your life. You get to live a fuller life, in my opinion. You get to create what YOU want, on your terms.

Right now my wife and I (and daughter) are living on the Sunshine Coast for a few months because Sydney winters suck.

Before our daughter was born we used to travel 6 months of the year (while working the whole time – but we did it from incredible locations). We create and work on projects that we love. We get to pick the people we work with. We get to go on incredible adventures. We get to decide how our life goes.

But there is a price for all of this.

And the price is you doing the hard work.

I don’t mean just ticking the boxes and going through the motions, but being challenged, being pushed to your limits, growing as a person, doing things that make you extremely uncomfortable but are the right thing to do, and stretching your abilities to get to the next level.

That’s the real price.

The craziest thing about this is that you’re no stranger to all of this. You’ve done it before. It’s called becoming a doctor.

When you started medical school, as an intern and resident, when you were on the training program, that’s what you experienced. You were pushed, challenged, you learnt a lot and it was exhilarating. Tiring but exhilarating….

In fact, that should be the warning label on life…

LIFE: Tiring but exhilarating (If done right).

That’s what is required to succeed in business, to change an industry, to remove the stigma from an illness, to change the culture, to cure a disease, to attract the right patients, or to move the world forward.

It’s never going to be easy, but it’s going to be a hell of a lot of fun and probably much better than what you’re doing right now.

And if that doesn’t float your boat, then business probably isn’t for you.

So if you’re still reading and this has you’re pumped and ready to make shit happen, then you need to be at our Masterclass. It’s for badass doctors like you who want to change the world or industry and are ready to do the work and have the fun, to make it happen.
